I Am Roy Mong.

Call me a storyteller, a coach, a creative thinker, or a dumpling fanatic.

Whether it’s writing, coaching, recruiting, tattoo requests, or irresistible art and prints, I use strategic design thinking to craft unique solutions for your career and business goals. With my non-profit leadership background and ongoing study in a graduate Counseling Psychology program, I develop innovative ideas by empathizing with users and examining the big picture. I am passionate about equity-centered products and organizations that make change for good.

I’ve got a passion for delighting my clients by bringing out hidden strengths, facilitating depth with thought-provoking storytelling, and finishing with satisfying results. Oh, and I can’t forget the dumplings. You gotta come and get some dumplings with me.

What gives me hope.

The empathetic, user-centric values in design thinking give me hope that we can build better human-centered solutions together. In his classic book, Out of Poverty: What Works When Traditional Approaches Fail, Paul Polak wrote, “For the past twenty-five years, two questions have kept my curiosity aroused: What makes poor people poor? And what can they do about their poverty?”

With my background in psychology through my studies at The Seattle School of Theology and Psychology, my own personal experiences as an Asian American, and my passion for uplifting marginalized individuals and communities, I hope to play a part in creating products, pathways, and experiences that address social inequities in a way that moves us closer to a kinder, more beautiful future.

When I am not working, you’ll find me writing flash fiction and other essays on my Substack, adventuring somewhere new with my family, or scouting out the next dumpling spot.

Let’s build together! You can reach me here.
